Today's Garden Center's Winners

Local Garden Center Named One of
Today’s Garden Center’s “Revolutionary 100”

Nature Scapes, located in Flagler County. Florida,  joined the ranks of the horticulture industry’s top independent garden centers in America when it was named one of Today’s Garden Center’s Revolutionary
100
.

Sponsored by Activant Solutions, Bayer Advanced, Campania International, Conard-Pyle,
Goldsmith Seeds and Nexus Greenhouse Corp, Today’s Garden Center’s Revolutionary 100
program, now in its third year, surveys garden center owners and managers and culminates in a
listing of the 100 most revolutionary garden centers in the nation. It is open to all independent
garden centers, large and small, and is based on leadership and innovation, not on size or
revenue.

“Nature Scapes has always strived to be revolutionary in our approach to landscaping, conservation and native plantings,” says Marylou Baiata, owner.

Garden center owners and managers across the United States fill out the online questionnaire
covering topics such as employee training, industry involvement, profitability, marketing, use of
technology, purchasing, and customer and community service. The entrants are ranked
according to a point system, and the 100 top entries make the list.

Nature Scapes has consistently demonstrated their commitment to progressive and responsible landscaping. Their garden center has the largest selection of plants in the southeast and an equally impressive collection of landscape statuary and fountains.
Their employees have a cross section of expertise in landscape design, horticulture, floral design, orchids, native plants, and water gardens to name a few. We strive to be revolutionary with the best in selection and knowledge to help our customers make the best choices for their outside environments.

“This company has demonstrated excellence and unique innovation in marketing, retail business
practices, and outreach to employees, customers and the community,” says Richard Jones,
Group Editor of
Today’s Garden Center. “We are honored to recognize them for their
revolutionary achievements throughout the industry.”

The award ceremony took place during the Revolutionary 100 Roundtable, February 27-29,
2008, in Atlanta, Georgia.

Since its inception in 2006, the Revolutionary 100 Awards Program has been unique among industry rankings. Rather than base the list on more common metrics such as sales volume or square footage, the Revolutionary 100 Awards focus on recognizing the most innovative retail garden center operations - big and small - for their commitment to creating a customer experience that sets their operation apart from the rest and doing so in a way that helps them to be profitable businesses. It's all about being Revolutionary.
